In the September of 1946, D.H. Harris (Pty) Ltd opened its doors for business. Initially, the company specialized in General Boiler making and Welding, servicing the South African mining industry and local fabrication companies. From the outset, quality was of the utmost importance for both the staff and management of D.H. Harris, no matter how big or small the job was. Industries very soon became aware of this and in 1948, an internationally based petro-chemical company, working in South Africa, commissioned D.H. Harris to build their first LPG Storage vessel.
These initial vessels built, formed the foundation for what was to become known as “the standard LPG vessel in South Africa”. Today Sikelela Steel strives to continue this proud heritage of pressure vessel manufacturing and offer clients the best quality product their money can buy.
